I am just a normal Guy. Like many of you I have had my ups and downs in life, hardships and successes, a man with a dollar and a dream. A quinquagenarian, I have had many experiences throughout the years, some good, some bad, some I cherish, and some I wish I could forget. I like to think I have a strong work ethic, having worked a full-time job, sometimes 2-3, while going to school and then while raising a family. I have been a mechanic, a small business owner, teacher, consultant, firefighter, and paramedic. I grew up not knowing I was poor because I enjoyed my childhood for the most part. I thought waiting on line for milk. bread, and cheese was normal. It wasn't until much later in life that I realized that I didn't grow up with much in the way of material things, but I was lucky to have a caring family. Having worked hard for my entire adult life and with the never ending support of my family, especially my sister, I have reached a point in life where I am comfortable. My zodiac sign is Cancer...I'm not sure if that's good or bad. I have six children, the youngest is 8 and the oldest is 36, so you can imagine I can tell a few stories. My first wife died at a young age. Being a widower with young children was one of the hardest things I have had to endure. God, yes I have a strong belief in God, must have felt I needed help and he sent me an Angel. Although she makes me crazy sometimes, I am lucky that she came into my life. My two youngest children are with her. I have been involved in Emergency Services for a long time. I retired from a fairly large, busy municipal fire department, but still continue to work full-time as a paramedic in a Coastal Community. I love the beach. I created this web page to tell my story, for my own piece of mind, for my kids to see someday and know who their father was, and for others to realize that they do not not struggle alone.
So...why did I start this blog? Because I have so much free time..LOL. As I stated above, I want to tell my story. My neighbor, coworker, and God Father to my youngest daughter, always said I should write a book about my life. I don't think anyone would buy a book about my life, even though it would be an interesting and entertaining television series, but I figured that some people would enjoy occasional posts on a web page that wasn't tied to a Social Media platform. I'll reserve the Social Media outlet for my political rants.
I figure I would have three different sections. One section would be about what I can remember from my life growing up. I'll hopefully add to this regularly and as I write I hope that my memory will return. In the second section I will write about current events. What is happening in the world around us and my daily diary. Since I am a shopaholic, gadget lover, bourbon and rum aficionado and sucker for a sale, I will write about products and services I have personal experience with. You will go on vacations with us and feel our pain or enjoy our pleasure. I read product reviews all the time and often wish they were straightforward and truthful. Mine will be.
As I become more proficient with this web page I hope to add images so you can see the world through my eyes.
Nothing is free in life. To help fund this web page I will sometimes post links to things I review. Some will provide a very small commission to help offset costs. I will NEVER post a link to a product or service that I have not used or visited and reviewed.
